The imposing new Tourist information office opened its' doors for business during the first week of January This is a welcome event for tourists and locals alike. The previous office stood only metres away from the new venue and was well supported. The location couldn't be more convenient and local residents will be pleased to know that Juan Manuel who did such a good job previously is still firmly at the helm. There is space for more literature and a computer screen providing Internet access for clients. In addition there are telephone facilities and an audio visual display zone with a screen, offering tourist images and news articles.
The office comprises, offices, store rooms, washroom facilities and is a shining example of Salobreña's attitude and intentions with regard to tourism. It is situated in Plaza Goya at the junction of Avenida's Mediterranean and Garcia Lorca which are the main access roads to Salobreña beaches.
The office will offer information on museums, lodgings, Salobreña and the Costa Tropical in General. There will also be available literature from other areas of Granada and Andalucia.

Patron of Salobreña "Virgen del Rosario" is celebrated during the period October 6th to 10th. The Saints Day is a major event in the village when the villagers dress in traditional costume. The whole place is one big party. There are parades, fun fair for the children, market stalls along the sea front and a Bull Ring is erected for the occasion.
The annual election of Kings and Queens of the village takes place, and the Statue of the virgen is paraded through the streets ending up at the Church of our Lady of the Rosario.

Salobreña Saints Day
The Badminton Club in Salobreña requires Members.
The sports hall in Salobreña is now open. It has an excellent non-slip floor and two badminton courts have been provided. The sports hall has good changing facilities for both sexes and has hot showers.
